We had a huge storm here last night, with massive, golf ball size hailstones! I was looking out the door at the storm and one hit my toe and it really hurt! They completely covered the street.

Completing a crazy night, we were woken up to city workers shouting on megaphones to move our cars. The whole street hadn’t moved their cars for construction because the city hadn’t taken down the old out of date signs, the new signs looked exactly the same, except the date changed. Everyone was running out in their pj’s to avoid being towed, I thought there was going to be a riot when neighbors we’re trying to stop the city from towing one car owned by an elderly hispanic lady. When she finally arrived, the city guy really shouted at her for why she hadn’t read the sign, she shouted back “I can’t read!” Fun times on Rockwell.
The community garden was pocked with impact craters from the hail last night. Lots of damage to everyone’s tomato plants 🙁
And here’s a video of the aftermath:

Even small hail sounds very loud when it hits. I bet golfball-sized hail sounded really scary, like big rocks pelting the house.
About the street workers demanding that people move their cars–immediately–in their pajamas… that must have been a rude awakening.
Wow, that’s some crazy big hail!
